Introducing Larry Wolf Olberado Doocy 360 - VIDEO

ColbertI have to admit that I was a tiny apprehensive about The Colbert Report when it first started. I thought it was a great show, I just wasn’t sure how long it would last because Stephen Colbert was doing a character, and I thought the character would become tiresome after a few months (at the most). But here we’re a few years later and if anything, Colbert’s show has become just as “Must-See” as The Daily Show. Maybe even a little more. Every single episode is very, very funny, including last night’s, where Colbert introduced a new reporter, Larry Wolf Olberado Doocy 360.

As you can probably tell, it’s an unholy mix of various cable newsmen (but no women!), including Larry King, Wolf Blitzer, Keith Olbermann, Geraldo Rivera, Steve Doocy, and Anderson Cooper. Just in time for Halloween, I think. Video of the segment is after the jump. Read more

Jesse L. Martin to join The Philanthropist?

Jesse L. MartinWow, is this right? Jesse L. Martin was on Law and Order for nine seasons? How could that be? Where has the last decade gone? I feel really old.

Martin was indeed on the hit NBC drama for that long. He left last season, in a storyline involving a gambling addiction, a murder, and a court trial. But now he might actually be coming back to the same network. Martin is in negotiations to play the James Purefoy’s sidekick on the midseason replacement series The Philanthropist, about a rich man who helps people with his dough. The character’s name is Philip Maidstone.

Five people I’d like to see moderate a debate

Katie CouricSo we’ve had the first Presidential debate, and the Vice Presidential debate takes place tonight at 9pm ET (on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, FOX News, MSNBC, PBS, CSPAN, probably The Weather Channel and Noggin too). While newspeople involved in the debates range from good (Jim Lehrer, Anderson Cooper, Bob Schieffer) to bad (Charles Gibson and George Stephanopoulos), there are many journalists who never seem to be involved in the debates for one reason or another. Maybe the debate committees and the campaigns don’t want them, or maybe the anchors don’t want to do a debate, but I can think of a few people I’d like to see moderate these things.

After the jump, my top five. Read more

Kate Walsh has a thing for boys with huge eyebrows - VIDEO

Kate WalshMy first true Television crush was probably Jordan Catalano on My So-Called Life. Dreamy, troubled, with eyes like pools of water — and he sure leaned great, didn’t he? And then there was Casey McCall on Sports Night, Josh Lyman on the The West Wing … OK, so maybe I’ve an overactive fantasy life.

Celebrities are no different from you and me. On AOL TV’s new video interview series Outside the Box — in which TV actors interview each other — ‘Private Practice’ stars Kate Walsh, Taye Diggs, Tim Daly and Audra McDonald sit down and rap about stuff like Addison and Pete’s “carnal destiny” and Taye’s “tiny little dog” (not a euphemism … I don’t think).

You know who ruined the Seinfeld finale? The liberal media!

October 2, 2008

Bill O'Reilly bookI read Bill O’Reilly’s new book, A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity, over the weekend. The title comes from something a nun called him when he was a kid. Besides finding out how much of a great guy he is (I found this out from O’Reilly, not from friends or associates), I also found out why the series finale of Seinfeld was so bad. It was the liberal media’s fault.

That’s right, the FOX News host states that Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David are so cynical that they “tanked the final episode on purpose.” They wanted to go out on such a low note that they made purposely made the last episode bad.
