Finally Batman 3 !

In a new three-part interview over at the LA Times, writer-director Christopher Nolan has returned from his Batman vacation and finally opens up a bit about The Dark Knight’s ridiculous box office take, Heath Ledger’s performance and whether or not he’d be interested in directing a third Batman film. Sure, on paper he had appear stupid not to take a gig helming the next Bat-flick, but Nolan has always been a man who takes one thing at a time — and notes in this interview how much he dislikes the whole act of “setting up the sequel,” although he kinda does it himself at the end of Batman Begins when Gordon shows Batman the Joker card. Regarding that scene, however, Nolan adds: “But for me that was just about the excitement of people leaving the theater with the sense that now we’ve the character up and running. I wanted people to walk away with that sense in their head. You know, that he’s become the Batman in the motion picture.”

Later on in the interview — which covers Knight’s box office, Ledger’s performance and the inevitable sequel — Nolan, who says he’d next want to take on a “very intimate, small story that happens to be photographed on a ridiculously large scale,” questions whether he had even want to make a third Batman film. He says, “There are two things to be said. One is the emphasis on story. What’s the story? Is there a story that’s going to keep me emotionally invested for the couple of years that it will take to make another one? That’s the overriding question. On a more superficial level, I’ve to ask the question: How many good third movies in a franchise can people name? [Laughs.] At the same time, in taking on the second one, we had the challenge of trying to make a great second movie, and there have not been too many of those either. It’s all about the story really. If the story is there, everything is possible. I hope that was a suitably slippery answer.”

It’s Me Chelsea/em is quite good, though I haven’t read her first book about all of the one night stands she has had. Sounds funny though. Sheldon is easily the quirkiest character, so falling into the trap of, hey, check out this ridiculous thing that guy stated, over and over again would be quite simple. Alice in Wonderland Not Being Shot in 3D?

br Back in September, we posted the first set photos of Mia Wasikowska as Alice in Tim Burton#8217;s Alice in Wonderland. I noticed that the camera filming Wasikowska didn#8217;t appear to be a 3D rig. I#8217;m not sure how much of the production will be shot using performance capture, but if they’re filming on practical sets, I don#8217;t comprehend why Burton would shoot in 2D. Some would argue that converting to 3D in post production gives you a lot more control over the depth and look of the 3D.
