Now the second season will show how these cartels became the world’s biggest and most dangerous drug mafia. Miguel Angel Felix Gallardo (Diego Luna) was the main focus of the first season and we will see his fall in Season 2.
What is the Release Date for Narcos: Mexico Season 2?
Narcos Mexico Season 2 will be premiered on 13 February 2020 on Thursday. Fans are eagerly waiting for the season to air as we all want to know what happens next. Will the Guadalajara Cartel become the biggest Cartel or will the DEA bring them down to their knees?
We know what happened in real life but still, we are still feeling some excitement as to how they are going to showcase the story On-Screen. The season will have 10 episodes like the previous ones.
The Cast of Narcos: Mexico Season 2:
Diego Luna will be returning as the main lead in the role of Miguel Angel Felix Gallardo. And after the brutal death of DEA Agent Kiki Camarena (Michael Pena), this time Scoot McNairy will be playing the role of the rival DEA Agent. The other cast members include Jose Maria Yazpik as Amado Carrillo Fuentes, Alejandro Edda will play Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman and Gerardo Taracena will be playing Pablo Acosta. Some new members will also be seen this season including Sosie Bacon who is Kevin Bacon’s daughter who will be seen as Mimi Webb Miller.
Narcos: Mexico Compared to Narcos Columbian Series:
The first three seasons focused on the Columbian Drug Cartels and their demise including the Medellin Cartel in the first and second seasons and the Cali Cartel in the third. After that, the series was shifted to a whole other region Mexico where the drug trade was still not that good. Then, an ex-cop turned Mafioso Miguel Angel Felix Gallardo started this business with the help of his connections with the Columbian Cartels especially the Cali Cartel and he helped them in transporting their drugs to the United States. Then, some more people put their hands in this business and more cartels formed like the Sinaloa Cartel, Guadalajara Cartel, Juarez Cartel, and the Tijuana Cartel. Narcos: Mexico mainly focuses on these cartels and all these cartels are unified by Miguel Angel as he presents himself as the Godfather for the Mexican Drug Mafioso.
Fans are waiting to see what is in the store for them but some people still miss the old Columbian Drug Lord Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria (Wagner Moura). Fans say that the Columbian Series was the one with more thrill and action. Narcos Mexico is good but it has a lot to catch up. Maybe the second season will be more action-filled and fans will get what they want.
The IMDb rating for the first season of Narcos: Mexico is 8.4/10 whereas Narcos Columbia has a rating of 8.8/10.
Role of DEA in the Second Season:
The last episodes of Narcos: Mexico Season 1 were action-packed and had some gruesome deaths including DEA Agent Kiki Camarena (Michael Pena) that will surely have some repercussions from the DEA in the next season. As we know, the doom of the Guadalajara Cartel started when they tortured and killed the DEA Agent Kiki Camarena (Michael Pena). And now we are going to see how the story actually unfolds in the next season. We are going to see Scoot McNairy as the new DEA Agent Walt Breslin in the second season who will be the rival of the Miguel Angel and his Guadalajara Cartel. We just hope he is as cool as the Agents Murphy and Pena in the Columbian Narcos series.
